    佛傳故事之六:藍毗尼園中太子降誕

    佛傳故事之六:藍毗尼園中太子降誕 日子在歡樂與安寧中悄然流轉,王妃摩耶夫人十月懷胎,已臨產期,身心愈發圓滿安適。然而,她依舊喜愛前往寂靜清幽的郊野散步。青枝綠葉,生機盎然;清泉潺潺,聲韻悠然。夫人以為,大自然的清淨與和諧,正是滋養身心、陶冶性情的良方。 一日,正值春末夏初的月圓之時,天朗氣清,風和日暖,實為難得的吉祥佳日。夫人向淨飯大王稟明,欲往迦毗羅衛國都郊外的藍毗尼園遊賞,並依當時習俗,於遊園後返回娘家待產。淨飯大王聞言,思及夫人已足月將產,歸母家分娩乃世俗常禮,亦不可違;然對夫人此時仍欲遊園,亦略感詫異。稍作思量後,便下令增派侍女隨行,並親自護送夫人,途經藍毗尼園,前往天臂城。 國王與夫人一行來到藍毗尼園。園中花木扶疏,景色清麗。夫人於清澈柔和的池水中沐浴之後,行至一株蓊鬱蒼翠的無憂樹下,扶枝而立,稍作歇息。忽然之間,身心微感異動;剎那間,無憂樹下自然湧現七寶蓮花,光潔瑩潤,大如車輪。太子遂自母親右脅安然降誕,落於蓮臺之上。 太子初生,不待扶持,自然挺立。右手指天,左手指地,周行七步,步步生蓮。隨即發出獅子之吼:「天上天下,唯我獨尊。」言音清越,震動十方。語畢,四大天王即以天上彩繒為衣,輕覆太子之身;天帝散下名貴香花,芬芳滿空;釋提桓因手持寶蓋,大梵天王執白拂侍立左右。又有難陀龍王與優波難陀龍王於虛空中降下清淨香水,一溫一涼,灌沐太子。 此時,摩耶夫人分娩之際,毫無苦痛之感;初降人間的太子,神情安詳,寂靜莊嚴。 相傳此刻,日光倍加明朗,萬花爭妍綻放,百鳥齊鳴歡歌,天地之間洋溢著祥和與喜悅,皆為慶賀太子降臨人間。 太子與夫人安臥於榻,淨飯大王喜悅與驚歎交集,侍立一旁。頃刻之間,天衣自空中飄然覆於太子身上;世間燃盡之薪復燃其焰,濁水轉為甘泉;百花愈加芬芳,萬物煥發生機。兇暴之人暫生慈悲,病苦之者不藥而癒;紛亂嘶鳴的禽獸亦忽然寂靜,暴虐之君轉而賢明,世間一切皆趨安穩祥和。 即使身處偏遠幽靜之地的人民,也皆感知此殊勝瑞相。於是,成千上萬的人們爭相趕赴藍毗尼園,共同瞻仰這難得一見的聖誕盛事。

    在靠近雪山南麓、森林繁茂的地方,有一個十分富裕的國家建立於此,這就是著名的迦毗羅衛國。國王淨飯大王是釋迦族的族長。他英勇能幹,智慧卓越,自從登上王位之後,把迦毗羅衛國治理得風調雨順,國泰民安。 由於他威德兼備,深受臣民擁戴。全國人民在他英明的領導下,豐衣足食,和平安樂地度過寶貴的歲月。 年輕的淨飯大王,少年得志:在家中是一族之長,在政治上是一國之君。因此,各國公主、名門千金,都暗自為自己的終身大事祈禱,希望能夠嫁給這位年輕威武的國王。
